Booking and arrival

How can I book?

With the «Book» button on this site, on the bed-and-breakfast.it portal with no commission, or by writing to Sonia on WhatsApp at +39 350 067 7072.

What time can I arrive and leave?

Check-in is from 3 pm, check-out by 10 am. If you arrive earlier or later, just write to us and we’ll agree on a time.

How do I get there without steps?

From Piazza Matteotti, 60 metres away. Don’t enter «Terrazza Campailla» in your satnav: the route it suggests goes up a narrow lane with steps, awkward with luggage and impossible by car. Use the Museum of Medicine pin instead.

Where do I park?

You can drive up close to the house to unload your luggage, then park the car. On Corso Umberto the spaces have blue lines: you only pay during shop opening hours, so parking is free at lunchtime, at night and on public holidays. Free parking in Via Tirella and Viale Medaglie d’Oro.

Can I leave my luggage before check-in or after check-out?

Yes: you can drop it off before check-in, or leave it at check-out and pick it up later.

How far are the airports and the station?

Comiso Airport is 21 km away, Catania Airport 73 km. Modica railway station is 760 metres away.

The house and the rooms

Do all rooms have a private bathroom?

Yes, all five.

Is there air conditioning?

Yes: heating and cooling air conditioning in every room, with adjustable lighting, a minibar with chilled water, free Wi-Fi and TV.

Do the showers have chromotherapy?

Yes, in every room.

Is breakfast included?

Breakfast is not included, but in the dining room you’ll find, free of charge, a coffee machine, a kettle with tea and herbal teas, a microwave, rusks and jams. If you like, you can have something delivered to enjoy in the dining room or on the terrace.

Is there a common room?

Yes: on the first floor there is the dining room, with a small area equipped with a coffee machine, kettle and microwave, and then there is the terrace. Both are open to all guests.

Can I smoke?

Not inside the house, neither regular nor electronic cigarettes. You can smoke on the large furnished terrace.

How often are the rooms cleaned?

Cleaning is weekly. For special requests, write to Sonia.

Are there family rooms?

Yes: Ciarciolo has a sofa bed and sleeps up to 4, Amore Vero up to 3, and a cot can be added in Torre d’Oriente.

Which languages do you speak?

Italian, English and French.

Are pets allowed?

No, pets are not allowed.

Modica and around

Do I need a car?

Not for the old town: Baroque churches, Corso Umberto and the chocolate shops are all on foot. For the sea, Noto, Ragusa and Scicli a car is handy.

How far is the sea?

Marina di Modica is about 20 km away.

What shouldn’t I miss?

The Cathedral of San Pietro, 420 metres away, the Cathedral of San Giorgio, Corso Umberto and Modica’s cold-worked chocolate. For shops and trattorias, ask Sonia.
